We are going to see from the scriptures how the truth of the Gospelwas covered up.
The disciple of love John, talked about people in the church whorefuse to welcome ministers of God, and they also tell others not toaccept them.
We also read in the book of Acts, that the rulers, the elders and thepriests, threaten the disciples not to speak or teach at all in thename of Jesus. Although they recognized that supernatural things werehappening, such as healings, deliverances and God’s intervention inthe release of Paul and Silas from prison.
And also the priests and the elders agreed on a plan, and gave thesoldiers a large sum of money and told them. ‘’Say this,…that thedisciples of Jesus came during the night and stole his dead body,while you were sleeping.’’ So, the soldiers took the money and did asthey were instructed, and this story has been spread among Jewishpeople to this day.
Other people, though they knew God, they did not honor him as God orgive thanks to Him, but they were led to vain meditations and theirfoolish hearts were darkened. And they exchanged the glory of theimmortal God for images of mortal men, and they exchanged the truthabout God for a lie and worshiped the creature rather than the Creator. And because they did not think it worthwhile to acknowledge God, God delivered them to a corrupt mind so that they do what is notright. Although they know God’s justice and those who practice suchthings deserve to die.
That is why the apostle Paul preached, that some people walked withdarkened minds, because of ignorance of the truth and the hardness ofheart. They don’t renew the spirit of their mind and they don’t put onthe new self, the one created according to God’s likeness.
Some other people also, although they know the truth, they do n’tconfess it for the fear of rejection and persecution.
Concerning some other people, as they are unbelievers and reject thetruth, Satan has blinded their minds, to keep them from seeing thelight of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For this reason, Jesus said to these people that their father is thedevil, who is the father of lies.
And finally, we also read in the scriptures, that there are evilpeople and they will become worse, deceiving and being deceived.
